Very nice trail/approach shoe. Super comfy right out of the box. Sole uses sticky rubber but with a tread pattern that works well on most surfaces. There's no separate tongue. It's all integrated into a stretchy nylon integrated shoe. This helps keep debris out. Nylon uppers alse nicely ventilated for hot weather conditions - no Gore-tex liner or anything, not waterproof at all (not intended to be...) - they really breath well and dry quickly if you do get them wet.

Toe rand adds durability and a bit of stick if actually climbing rock. But they don't really climb that well. Great for approaches and easy scrambles, but switch to your rock shoes when the terrain goes vertical. Mine fit me a bit loosely in the heel, but I have pretty narrow feet. Mine have held up quite well for over a year of sporadic usage. Nice design. Good materials and workmanship.
