Sierra Designs Night Watch 2.0 CD

rated 4.5 of 5 stars

The Night Watch 2.0 CD has been discontinued. If you're looking for something new, check out the best four-season tents for 2024.

I've owned this tent for 10 years now and it is still performing well which is typical and, in my opinion, expected of a Sierra Designs tent.

I have the newer version of this tent, the Night Watch CD 2.0 which has dual doors/vestibules.  It's a bit heavy for a 3 season backpacking tent at just under 8 Lbs, but at the time I could only afford one tent and I planned to use it year round.

It breathes very well, has plenty of room for two and allows both to have their gear under shelter and with in each person's reach. The tent is also winter weather worthy as I found out during a multi-day winter trip in the Sierra Nevadas.  I also really enjoy having the top open so I can see out.

All in all, still very happy with this purchase as my winter weather and car camping tent.

Very pleased with this tent. Enough room for two and some gears. Rugged structure and tough materials, not rip and tear so far. Most importantly, kept me very dry! Even in 2 huge storms, not a single drop of water. Rain fly, tent, and tarp are all easy to clean and dry quickly.

Only downside is its weight. I don't consider a 8-lb tent suitable for backpacker. But I guess 4-season tents are never light.

Design: 4-season freestanding
