Here's what other sites are saying:

While you won't be stirring the ocean's currents or issuing judgment on passing sea-goers with SOG's Trident Knife, you will be able to take care of any task you can think of with its locking technology and versatile blade. The Trident isn't stupid-proof, but it's close. Once you engage the pass-through bar, S. A. T. (SOG Assisted Technology) uses opposing, high-tension coil springs to open and lock the blade, and the color-coded safety lock makes safety even more of a no-brainer. The Trident's groove handle offers protected, un-opened access to the knife blade, great for cutting ropes and fishing line. The belt clip on the handle provides great stow-on-the-go access. SOG's Digi-Grip pattern and lightweight Zytel handle offer dependable grip even when wet.

The SOG Trident folders have features that are common to several of SOG's most popular knives. Upon closer inspection, you will find that they have features not normally seen in a folder. The Trident uses S.A.T. technology to open the knife, just open the knife about 1/3 of the way and the knife does the rest. There is also a built-in safety to lock the blade in the closed position, when it shows red the knife is ready to be deployed. Overall length 8-1/2". Weighs 3.5 oz.

The SOG Trident uses our well-proven means of delivering a knife blade to the open position with S.A.T. (SOG Assisted Technology) Now using our patent pending Arc-Actuator, the Trident locks stronger and releases easier. There is also a built-in safety to lock the blade closed. When it shows red, you are ready to go. What also makes the Trident so unique is the patent pending Groove in the handle, which allows the operator to cut paracord, fishing line, etc. without having to open the blade. The handle also includes a Digi-Grip variable pattern for coarser grip in areas that require it. Our bayonet style clip is easily switched for right/left hand carry or removed for pouch storage.
