The North Face Galeao

I researched many packs and this is an excellent pack for European travel! Great features! Used it six weeks (summer of 2000) and I highly recommend it. Go with the largest size, they make one smaller, which is good if you need it to be a carry on. The only problem I had was the zipper that held the day pack to the main pack would seperate when the pack was really stuffed. But what do expect when you stuff it, plus they have excellent compression straps to hold everything in place. Also, all the straps tuck away really well unlike most internal frame packs. This bag also has a rain cover built in but I only needed to pull it over my bag in really hard down pours. Again, if you're doing any sort of European traveling and staying in hostels then buy this bag! But if you're lugging a tent and sleeping back then buy something else. I suggest having two seperate bags.
