Ardica-enabled Mountain Hardwear jackets recalled for burn hazard


The Ardica Moshi Power System

Ardica Technologies, supplier of the heating units in Mountain Hardwear's Radiance and Refugium heated jackets, is recalling the Moshi Power System rechargeable battery pack as well as Ardica enabled jackets sold by Ardica, Mountain Hardwear, and Sitka in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

A limited amount of Ardica heaters can overheat and/or cause hot spots which may cause injury. NO ONE has been injured and the likelihood of injury is extremely low.

Individuals with a 2009 Ardica Enabled Jacket should immediately stop using it.

The garments that may be affected are:

Ardica Insulated Mid Layer
Ardica Insulated Parka
Mountain Hardwear Radiance Jacket
Mountain Hardwear Refugium Jacket
Sitka Dutch Oven Vest
