2009 Banff Mountain Photography Competition

Photographer Cindy Goedde's image above, of a young alpha male wolf in Yellowstone howling for his pack after feeding on elk, won the mountain flora/fauna category in the 2009 Banff Mountain Photography Competition. Other winning mountain photographs, including the grand prize winner, can be viewed onlne.

The Banff Centre also has competitions for mountain and adventure books (just announced) and films (festival happening now) and a mountain idol role model initiative. Workshops in adventure film and photography, as well as mountain writing are offered at the centre.

What a cool photo, I will use the links you provided, thanks.

Just a thought, and maybe I will find out at the Banff Center, will these photos be available as prints?

That's a good question, Trouthunter. I don't believe the center normally is involved with selling the prints, but the photographers may do so individually.

I went to Cindy Goedde's website and found the wolf photo above (among many others) for sale in various formats (prints, cards) and sizes.

Thanks Alicia, Cindy certainly got a fantastic shot and should be proud.

If you can't afford a print, you could always get a 5x7 greeting card for $7.50 and frame it (she even suggests that on her website). It is a very cool shot; she has quite a few others I like too.
