"Get the Gear!" says Portlandia

"Get the gear!" say Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein, stars of Portlandia, a series of short clips that parody life in Portland, Oregon. If finding just the right soft shell has ever turned your "alpine start" into an "after-lunch start," check out the following episode:

"Get the Gear!" perfectly portrays the absurdity most of us have faced at one time or another: sorting through piles of gear and equipment, stuck in the material world, while planning an escape to a simpler, more natural place.

In addition to poking fun at the outdoor experience, Fred and Carrie also argue with the owners of a feminist bookstore, take shell-art classes, and ironically ogle fixed gear bicycles.

Now, where did I put my GPS?

I may live on the other coast, far from Portlandia, but I still think this is great. Very funny.

Thanks for sharing, Seth.

My favourite TV show but that Hulu (it's OVER!) video won't play outside of the US, so I will have to wait til it gets on youtube.

Hahaha! I can only infrequently watch shows that are so full of snark, but this and the "Dropped iPhone"  one were so freaking funny!

If you have ever lived or visited the Northwest you know this show is spot on with a lot of their spoofs.

It's so wrong, but so on the mark at the same time. After all, I live in the Poconos - I've seen this live!!
