Here are a few example haiku, showing the 5-7-5 structure. Haiku don't have to be funny or rhyme.

Example 1:

A pillar of fire

Arches skyward, eternal

Darn stove exploded!

Example 2:

Outside, a white world

Inside, safe warm coffee Steams

My tent, like a womb!
