Antarctica - How Backcountry is that?
Backcountry Forum
Antarctica, does it get a cold there? I just wanted to share some excitement. Aside from totaling my car and losing my current job this month, I have a friend who has worked for Raytheon's polar services who has managed to secure me an interview for the 08-09 summer season there. Apparently they need desktop support techs there.
Raytheon states that there is plenty to do in your off time there, such as hiking and cross-country skiing, and a gift shop? LOL That one gets me. The south pole station has a gift shop. Love it. But how awesome would that be, once in a life time.
My friend says that most people end up at McMurdo, or Palmer, but he's been to both McMurdo and the South Pole Station.
