Anybody familiar with a German tent manufacturer named "Wechsel"? The web adress is www.wechsel-tents.com A local shop is carrying their tents, and they appear to be nearly the same quality of Marmot and MH. Any info would be appreciated.

I've heard the Wechsel is a quality tent. I saw one set up on the trail last month and had a nice chat with the couple. They were pleased with it. But then it seems almost everybody is pleased with their tent after they get to know it.

That tent and I are inseparatable now. I've had it about 3 years, Lee. Wish I had a different color and don't use the barn door windows a lot, and if this ever wears out, walks away or I sell it, I'll get the 3 person (the 'heavy' 3# model). It has suffered deep snow, high winds, three day rains in Alaska, some humidity in NC and WVa and 4 people overnight in a storm at 12,000 - not a lot of room to shuffle the cards. Only tribulations so far has been to replace a section of pole due to a rock hitting it, and be sure that when you talk to Jack senior, he is on his meds or at least is in a good mood.
So what you been up to, Lee?

Hiking and working, I wish it was in that order...
Just did an o'nighter up the Devil's slog trail in my Teva sandals 'cause I forgot my boots. I think I'll forget my boots more often...

I like those warmlites. A little to pricey for me, but who knows I might hit the lottery someday, or hit a fat jackpot at Pala Casino...
I also like the look of that Wechsel Pathfinder, and the Hilleberg Akto....
Crap!!! Too much good gear out there nowadays!!
