This is one bad #@@ stove, it reminds me of a arcwelder, I usually just boil water, so with my MSR Ti Kettle it is one light weight, efficient boiling machine. A meal and a mug of tea or coffee in 4.5 minutes at 9,000 feet plus. In major sub-freezing conditions, i will stick with my XGK-II shaker stove but for 3 season hiking, I will never bring anything else again. Dont like alcohol stoves, so this is one for me. Only used 1.3 oz fuel per day, that is sweet news for us. I kept waiting for my pot to melt under its intense heat.

It's a hard decision for me between the PR or alcohol stove

I tend to use the PR on longer lightweight trips or backpacking trips with the family because of it's fuel economy and ease of use.

I like alcohol stoves for ultralight overnighters or wekenders.
