Drippy Weather Protection

Going hiking on the Olympic Penn. shortly and will need some sort of tarp to keep the normal Pacific Northwest drippy weather off of me while I cook and laugh at the Boy Scouts try to cook (us leaders can be really mean). Is the Siltarp2 the way to go? If the Siltarp2 is correct, why not go with the Siltarp3 and have a larger area to hang out in? I will have a tent so I'm not using this for primary rain protection but just trying to make the trip more enjoyable. Thanks for your input.

Oh, I love hanging out in the rain.........

I put up a Eureka 5'X 8' nylon & coated tarp (same material as a tent) over a line and stake down one side of the tarp (with 5 foot ropes) and tie the other ends to trees. I suspend this "hootch" lengthwise above my hammock. I can lay back and relax and cook in totally dry comfort.

Greay way to capture fresh water without getting up too!
