black stuff in camelbak tube
i recently got my camelbak out of the closet for the first use this year. i found black stuff covering the inside the tube, and nossel in some parts. i tried to get it out by running bleach through the tube. that helped, but there still was some left in it.
is it safe to still use my camelbak? can anyone reccomend a way to get it out?

Re: black stuff in camelbak tube
Get the hose cleaner brush, remove the tube from the bladder and the bite valve (and shutoff if you have one) and scrub the inside of the tube thoroughly with the brush. There are two (or more maybe) different lengths of cable on the brushes. Get the longest one if you have a choice.
After scrubbing thoroughly and getting the black stuff out (it's called "mold"!), scrub the bladder (there is a brush for this as well) and clean the bite and shutoff valves by scrubbing as well (the hose brush can be used for this). After all that, reassemble and pour straight chlorine bleach into the bladder and bleed the air out through the valve. Let it sit overnight, then rinse several times with hot water. This will pretty well clean the junk out and sterilize it.
Camelback recommends using their chemical pill. This works, too, but it's more expensive than chlorine bleach. By the way, use straight chlorine bleach, not the versions with perfumes, fabric softeners, etc in them.
