Knife Sharpening

Hey everyone, quick question for ya. I find myself using my knife on the trail a lot and I was wondering if anyone had any good ways to sharpen your knife on the trail without having to pack a sharpening stone or something like that. Your input is appreciated thanks!

Re: Knife Sharpening

Get a DMT diafold - it is a small diamond hone with two different grits (if you want to sharpen blades over about 4" this will still work, but will take some technique). I carry the Fine/Extra Fine version. It folds up small and doesn't weigh a lot. If you are not going to be sharpening other folk's cutlery, and you know you can get away with a single grit, they are sold with only one grit, which makes it lighter still.

I'll second the DMT Diafold, it works very well. And it packs small and light.

I also carry a piece of leather with stropping compound on it.
