Re: Short Instructionals

I found this video on You Tube today and thought it was pretty handy. Does anyone else know of videos of common backpacking skills or projects that come in handy?

I don't have the links, but there are numerous decent videos on you tube about hiking, backpacking. Also a lot of DIY videos for making backpacking stoves, and other gear.

Also something you might like is this site I found recently.
It automatically gives you the magnetic declination for your area.
All you do is go to the site, it reads your IP address and gives you the info instantly, it has a map and location indicator so you know it is giving you the info for the correct area. COOL!

The declination for my area is: 7 deg. 13' west (negative)

Re: Short Instructionals

How much alcohol is needed to boil 2 cups of water? I am an Esbit user normally for the long hauls but it is hard to get in Canada, only one place I know of. This would be a great backup stove if my solid fuel supply were to be hard to get. Thanks for any info.
