I was lucky to see a sneak preview of footage from "The National Parks: America's Best Idea" in January at Outdoor Retailer. I was even luckier to hear Burns speak:

Ken Burns was the guest speaker at the Outdoor Industry Association's breakfast at that OR. I think he is fantastic and very thoughtful, and obviously the subject matter is of great interest. I've heard him speak a couple times and have always been impressed. Before a journalism lecture several years ago, I even got to talk Red Sox baseball with him.

I'll be reminding people on Trailspace about this documentary prior to its September 27 debut on PBS.
