Salazar Announces National Park Fee Free Days for 2011

Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar today announced that the National Park Service will waive admission fees on 17 selected dates throughout 2011...

Mark your calendar for these fee-free days in 2011:

• January 15-17
  (Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday weekend)
• April 16-24
  (National Park Week)
• June 21
  (First day of summer)
• September 24
  (Public Lands Day)
• November 11-13
  (Veterans Day weekend)

Gary does that include backcountry fee's? Or just regular park fee's?  I might just run up to DC if it's fee's to see Gettysburg..

I thinks it probably just entrance fee's?

Hope to see some pictures when you return, I have never seen Gettysburg. I need to get back east and see some more parks too. I have lived out west for 30 years. Last time I was in the east was at Lake Placid in '96 working at the Holiday Inn. Beautiful country around there. I grew up in upper state New York near Rochester, we used to camp in the Catskills during the summers. First time for me I was 6 months old in 1956, my parents had a huge canvas tent with big wooden poles. Can remember from my little bit order days watching the popular black bears going thru the trash dumps at night with everyones headlights shining on them, that would have been in the 1960's.
