Use this recipe but substitute pop corn for the cereal, makes a sweet and salty treat.

Always found those squares too sweet, and I'm more likely to crave salt than sugar when I'm out, so that's worth trying, thanks Gary! Up til now, if I made them at all, it's been with bittersweet chocolate and unsweetened cranberries, just to get the candy-ness down a bit. I bet the little woodland critters would also like your recipe...

If you want them sweeter, use fruity pebbles or captain crunch instead of rice crispies.

For another variation that my wife prefers, add a big gob of peanut butter for peanut butter rice crispy treats.

Actually any cereal will work, also peanuts, cashews, pecans (pralines) I had a friend once that used G.O.R.P. (Good Old Raisins and Peanuts) Tho I have never liked fruit and nuts mixed together.
