My godson goes with me hiking and backpacking and now we have a dilema...he is getting braces. I'm looking for ideas of what to bring for him to eat since he is now not allowed to eat any nuts, anything sticky, or hard meats and vegetables. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. :)

Having braces can indeed be a minor pain in the rear, i speak with experience. my orthodontist would typically frown upon my broken brackets when I showed up to appointments.. i love nachos. And considereing the main hiking foods like jerky, gorp, etc.. theyre tough to replace.

I would suggest some of your softer energy bars such as the type CLIF makes. Also, theres nothing wrong with a little peanut-butter and honey on a soft bagel. english muffins, tortillas, and pitas and are all great too because they don't tend to spoil as easy. Grab some cheese or fruit spread, a pack of tuna/chicken and your set. At camp theres always pasta/rice or soup mix for dinner. energy drink mixes or tea and coffee wouldn't hurt either. Get a little creative and youll be fine. good luck!
