The Gi-gi is a belay device that allows a belayer to control two ropes/climbers at the same time. It is used a lot by AMPGA guides for climbing with two clients.
Cool tool, you can do a lot with it...like go up.

It is a device that, when added to the belay system, will allow you to belay a second from above and it auto-locks if he/she falls. You can belay 1 or 2 seconds. The Petzl Reverso, when used in self-locking mode, has eliminated the need for the Gi-Gi, but its still nice to have around. Plus the Reverso can be a problem belaying 2 climbers with half ropes in icy conditions-see Petzl's recent warning on web site and climbing mags.
