There is a guide service in the village of Chamonix that coordinates all the guiding up the peak. Their office is located just off the center of the village. They can help you hook up with another climber or group do find someone to help you on your own. It is the official service for the French side.

Best bet, if you are experienced at glacier travel, is to hang out in climbers camp and hook up with a group. If you aren't experienced at glacier travel, crevasse rescue, and the like, then do as clepley suggests - go to the guide service office and ask to get grouped with others. M Blanc by the standard route is just a snow slog, though a long day and at altitude, even from one of the huts. Be sure to be off the mountain by noon - afternoon storms come up by mid-afternoon and the frequency of avalanches is much greater as the day wears on.
