I have a bod harness that i've had since college. i use it for everything, but what i care about most is fast one or two day alpine climbs. i've noticed that my harness has somehow shrunk since college when i bought it (someone should warn black diamond about this phenomenon .. ) and i need a bigger one if i'm to get it over winter gear/windpants etc.

Can anyone suggest a harness for me to get? I'm considering another bod, but also the BD blizzard, and the arcteryx verro. i want something that's all purpose but that shines in the mountains .. adjustable, light, simple, and easy to get in and out of, take a leak while strapped in, etc.

thanks,
paul

Re: alpine harness shrinkage

I have seen this problem as well, even with different brands of harnesses. Alpine Bod is the one. You may have to go with the "Grande'" or even "Mucho Grande'" size like me though.

My Archteryx shrank too!

My Archteryx harness shrank too... (:->)

I bought a Petzl Jump to replace it. The jump weighs twice as much but if you spend anytime actually sitting in a harness [like at a sling belay] the Jump is a cadillac. Besides I generally have 5-10 pounds of gear hanging from it.

Perhaps our bodies have all expanded a bit since college. Eh, Mr. Raphaelson?
