I read a book called, "The Heart of the World: A Journey to Tibet's Lost Paradise" It's about this guy that goes in search of the remote and very hard to find and get to "heart of the world." If you find it you can achieve enlightenment quickly.
It's a spiritual journey and a hiking trip in one.

I found the New Scientist website slide show fascinating, especially slide 9 (land cover) and 10 (speed of travel in various terrain types). Antarctica does appear on a number of the maps, always blank with no roads, railroads, shipping routes, etc.

Which is colder you think, Greenland or the Tibetan Plateau?
