Happy summer solstice (if you're down in the southern hemisphere, happy winter). Summer arrived at 7:28 a.m. (EDT) this morning, and hopefully it's not as hot as the picture above wherever you are. If you celebrate the solstice with a hike, don't forget plenty of sunscreen and insect repellent. Today is also Hike Naked Day. Watch out for the poison ivy, folks....

Here's what our Rose's look like this the longest day.

Now the days start getting shorter again. Tho it doesn't seem like it in July and August the hottest months in the southwest.

I was able to go on a naked hike. I hiked all the way down from bed to my coffee maker and then all the way back up to the shower.


I did not wear a backpack so maybe it does not count.


(The blinds were closed out of respect for any passers by.)


I was wearing shorts so that probably disqualifies me as well. :(
