Profile Picture

Sorry if this has been posted before but I couldn't find anything on this. I am trying to upload a photo from my computer for my profile picture. When I click on the save button the area where the location of the photo is goes blank. Is there a file size limit? The file size of the photo is 2.36MP. My camera is 12.1MP and I am not sure how to make the size smaller. Would I have more luck uploading it to photobucket then linking it to my profile picture? Thanks for the help.

Well, I figured out how to resize it, but the resolution leaves something to be desired. Does any one know what the maximum resolution of the profile picture is?

Thanks. It's a picture from the first (of many I hope) hike of the year with my wife. And probably the only sunny day in Port Hardy of the year.

Welcome Jett, that is a nice photo. Is that the WCT or NCT your on there by chance. I want to do a trip to the island this year sometime.

Thanks manalishi. It is just south and to the east of the north coast trail. I hope to do the NCT soon but I'll probably wait till next year as I am kind of out of shape. I'll probably warm up this year with a few trips to cape scott.

Hi Jett-

Welcome to Trailspace! Sorry that you ran into a bug right off the bat like that.

We've had sporadic reports of similar problems with uploading large images — usually in the 12 MP range — although it doesn't seem to be an issue for all images that size. Could you e-mail me the image that wouldn't upload? That could help us pinpoint and hopefully correct the problem.

Thanks for your help Jett. With the help of your file I was able to track down and fix the bug. You should be able to upload the full-sized original file now.
