Hi cat,

Get a bigger bag! Seriously!

A bigger bag will make your troubles go away. You are competing against industrial equipment that apparently can fold and pack better than most campers. You wouldn't by chance have a Eureka tent would you?

I'm in complete agreement with Trouthunter on this. I keep all my tents in large mesh duffel bags as a safeguard against off gassing of the urethane coating which happens when a tent is stored tightly rolled in a small bag for extended periods of time.

You could always buy that industrial tent folder!

Mesh bags would be a better option. I used over-sized duffle bags purchased from thrift stores.

Hi catfish queen 1,

I am a stuffer. My tents are stored loose in large plastic totes when not in use but I stuff them in their sack for tavel. I find the fit is much better. Like others suggested if stuffing doesn't work, a bigger bag seems to be a good suggestion.

For years I had trouble with my eureka tent getting back in the bag.

LOL. Then I became a skydiver. After learning to pack a 150 square foot zero porosity chute into an 8 inch bag, my problems went away.

Now I have to remember that it's not always good for my gear to see how small I can make my bag and tent.

SO I guess you could take a packing class for 25 bucks and be way better than those industrial machines!
