I assume from your statement that you are going on a 2-week course that this will be on glacier, probably on the Ruth. If so, double plastics are the way to go. The Nepal Extremes are basically just that - they were designed for that type of conditions, but with added flexibility and much lighter than most traditional plastics. But I wouldn't worry about your "old" Koflachs. I still use my 12 year old Scarpa Invernos, though I did replace the original liners with thermofits about 5 or 6 years ago. You might consider getting a set of thermofit liners. If you are indeed going into the Ruth, the Koflachs will be plenty warm.
