Hey yall, I got a new jacket today at Bass Pro, and I was wondering if anyone has tried it, heard of it, and got a review of it!

that link explains it, I watched some of the videos, pretty funny stuff!

i got it from bass pro in black, but i'll advertise more of colombia's site because they show images of the inside... presenting the Men's Air Beware Omni-Heat Jacket:

I thought it was a decent price, compared to Patagonia and Northface and all other major brands... so I went for it! I also got their midweight base layer, but they have also have a lot more stuff!

i'm in Lubbock, TX now, and they actually have winter here... so I'll be able to share my experience in the next few weeks (its only about 55 in the morning... but in San Antonio, TX thats my winter and that lasts a whole month!!)

after a month of using this gear, I've come to a conclusion...

It's pretty awesome!

I live am in the southern part of the great plains, right next to a dessert, so one nights are freezing, and the days are warm. On those extra cold (32 degrees, I'm originally from a humid place and 32 would be our coldest day of the year!) mornings, I'll wear a tee shirt with the "air beware" and some jeans... my upper body stays very warm!

I wore the midweight layer to softball games, and I stay warm, but comfortable. It is very breathable! especially under the arm pits because they decided not to put the reflecting dots in that area, which is awesome so I don't sweat too much there.

On a backpacking trip, I went tentless and woke up several times freezing! I took my "air beware" wrapped my feet with it, and woke up being able to feel all my toes!

However, I followed the tips on how to wash it, and I managed to get a little tear :/ I believe it happened in the dryer... I'm gonna try to get it replaced at Bass Pro come thanksgiving week when I go back to my parent's place!

Overall, I'd say awesome stuff! If you're in the market for a new jacket I'd give this a glance!

I've been having some good experiences with Columbia gear recently.  I was really impressed with a pair of Walla Walla boots I got for hot summer strolls.  Stuck out in a downpour 12 miles from the car stomping through puddles and small streams I got back to the car and my socks and feet were bone dry below the ankle.  I believe their waterproofing is called Omni-Tech.
