I live in NC and I have been skiing for several years. I would like to get a pair of ski boots in the spring but I dont know what brand to get. Would it be good to just go to a ski shop and try on several pairs?

Yes, ski boots are expensive and buying them without trying them on would not be a good idea.

You should get ski boots professionally fitted. What is good for some (brand wise) isn't for others so go to a reputable shop and get fitted out.
