Hey gang - while I really love my Nemo tent for backpacking, one minor inconvenience with this design is that if I use it as a "base camp" tent and want to leave it up while dayhiking around an area, I can't use those trekking poles. Any suggestions on buying/using a standard set of adjustable tent poles for those times when weight is NOT an issue?
Thanks in advance,
KD

Buy a cheap set of trekking poles and only use them for your base camp setup.

Walmart 19.99 trekking pole set , or just use the same set like I do. I just collapse the tent by taking my poles out, only takes just a moment to put the tent back up as long as you leave it staked out.

Why not just take the pole for day hikes, out and leave the tent in that status?

Another option would be to purchase some cheap fiberglass tent poles, and hacksaw them to the proper length. A layer of duct tape on the ends would prevent it from shredding the tent material.
