So, let's say Ricky-P wants to get a custom, one-off Cuben fiber inner tent made for his Hilleberg Soulo. He realizes doing so will shave 1-1/2 pounds off of the tent, and he's been bitten by the UL bug, hard...

Who will do that for him? What manufacturers, that you know of, will do custom stuff to that degree?

I'd like this thread to be a compendium of custom backpacking gear manufacturers and our experiences with them.

This is an interesting topic. Ya actually sparked my curiosity btw with the Cuben inner. :)

I did a quick search and came across this company:

I wonder if a full Cuben inner would fall under "Modifications of customer's tents."

This is an interesting Cuben offering and is way cheaper than alot of other Cuben shelters I have come across. Really light too.

4 season and starts at $300:

A guy we hike with has some stuff made by bearpaw, and he loves it all. They will make almost anything you ask for. He has a hammock and a couple of tarps they made. I bought some fabric from them and it was almost a foot longer than ordered on both dimensions.

I've hear really positive things about John over at Bear Paw; good to know you're experiences echo that, Mark.

I know that Joe at Z-packs does pretty custom stuff too; I've got a pack he made for me with a couple less-than-common attributes...

I'll be posting pictures soon in this thread, for those that want to look:
