I have used Mountain House flameless ovens for a while and was looking at other types, like the Military versions.  I came across this one, which is new to me, but I could see it being very useful for overnights or just a few days.

I would like some input about flameless ovens, I live in SoCal and it's just not worth having open flames on the trail.

it looks like that one is one time use deal that is made to go inside other packages. how would you use it? I have used the MRE heaters and they work, its just the packaging you have to deal with. too much leftover trash to pack out. I'll stick to using my stove. I live in San Diego and I've learned that you just have to be careful. good luck on your quest.

I was thought about using it to heat freeze dry food, then wipe it out to heat coffee or tea, also the bottom looks like it can be removed and install new canister in the field.
