Best Lightweight pack

After reading until my eyes bled, I have narrowed down pack choices to ULA Catalyst, and Gossamer Gear Gorilla. 

I love the handmade aspect of the Catalyst, and if it were my first pack, I would be less reluctant to move from my external frame.

I am very intrigued by the Gorilla.  It weighs in at 25 ounces, to the catalyst's 3 pounds. 

Since I am trying to go the way of UL as best as I can afford, and I can't afford multiple packs, I am trying to strike the best balance.

The pack has to be able to fit a BearVault500.  I have heard the Catalyst will swallow one horizontally, which really appeals to me, but I can't find clear info on the Gorilla.

I would love some feedback here as I work to make my decision.
