Montbell Alpine Light or Frost Line Parka?

For about three weeks I've had a Montbell Alpine Light parka. I like its fit, how it feels and that it seems to be warm enough, especially with a layer or two beneath if it's totally arctic outside. I live in Ipswich, Mass. and this has been a ridiculously cold winter.

I'm trying to decide if I should exchange the Alpine Light for the Frost Line parka. the latter is warmer with more down and has offset box baffle construction.

I realize that if the weather is in the 30s, I could wear the Frost Line with only a shirt underneath, but would it be overkill in general? The Alpine Light seems to be more practical for a wider temperature range, given proper layering.

I don't go ice climbing or mountaineering. I just don't like being cold when I go out walking in the winter.

I would be grateful for opinions.
