black diamond icon headlamp

hello,

i have a question about the ICON headlamp from black diamond; can it be use for caving(powerfull enough?)

I haven't used it for caving (haven't gone spelunking in decades). However, it seems as bright as my old carbide/acetylene headlamp, so I suspect it would be adequate. Besides, the weight of batteries for a couple days of caving would be a lot lighter than the carbide supplies we used to have to carry, and assuming you do carry the used batteries out as you should, a lot less messy and environmentally hostile than the carbide dumps.

thanks for your answer, i'm about to go for the apex from princeton tec it seems maybe more a caving lamp than the icon but still dont know

I own the apex and it is a bright headlamp. Kind of on the heavy side as it uses 4 AAs. Haven't used it caving so I can't help you there.
