Seem like Kelty made this pack briefly maybe in response to the Dana externals. Does anyone have any opinions aboput the Kelty Continental Divide in addition to the ones already posted in the Review Section?

The Kelty and Dana externals are the same pack. K2, the company that owns Kelty these days, bought Dana Designs some years back. Dana Gleason, the former owner, a somewhat feisty fellow (but fun to talk to), got upset with the way Kelty wanted to run the company, so he resigned and started Mystery Mountain. A few years later, he left Mystery Mountain, then came back and is now running that company, instituting some more of his very interesting designs that other companies sooner or later start copying.

For the last 2 or 3 years, most of the "Dana Designs" packs coming out of K2/Kelty are not designs by Dana Gleason at all, but just have the label stuck on them. There are a few of the original designs still being sold, though. Last I heard, K2/Kelty is dropping the Dana Designs label and just calling the packs "Kelty".

Oh, and Dick Kelty's original designs of packs, tents, and other items have pretty well vanished from the current "Kelty" line-up.
