REI Base camp 4, Marmot Den 4, or ?
I am looking for a car camping tent that can be used in moderately windy, rainy, and cool (down to 30 degrees F) conditions. I see several posititve reviews for the REI Basecamp but none for the Marmot Den. Does anyone know much about the Den? Are there other similar tents that should be considered?

I cant contest to either of the tents you mentioned but I can attest that Marmot does make a good product.

Thanks for the information mike068. The two tents are very similar in their design and specifications. I was initially leaning toward the Marmot but couldn't find any reviews of it.

No problem Frazier I do know that REI has an excellent reputation for taking care of its customers but that's all I can attest to and but I have never dealt with there customer service dept.

New Hiker
Sorry, I haven't checked the discussion board for several weeks. I wish I had because $150 is a great price on that tent. Unfortunately, I decided that I could not justify the price ($350 plus $50 footprint) and bought a REI Camp Dome 4 with a 20% discount during the Labor Day sale. The total price was less than $200.
