i should have prefaced my post by saying i planned on spending a day or two prior car camping someplace, maybe taking short dayhikes to get acclimated a bit. the three or four nights would be the actual backcountry hiking i'd be doing. i'm hoping that will give me a bit of time to adjust to the change in altitude.

a wkend explorer edition, huh? i might check into that. i have seen software before, but i'm thining it was a full edition or something. i think it ran around 100 bucks, which would be a bit more than i'd want to spend. i'd at least like to get some groundwork investigation done to make sure it's a go before doing so at least. thanks for that suggestion. i'll be sure to keep it in mind.
