3 backpackers with not a whole ton of experiece (a few weekend hikes) looking to do a roughly 3 day, 2 night trip ( this is flexible ) trip in late May. I was looking to do something in the Cascades or Olympic National forest. From what I understand, I'll have to try to find something relatively low elevation so that it's not still covered in snow by this time. So far, the coolest looking shoulder season or low elevation area I've found is the Thunder Creek trail....

I encourage others with experience in this area to offer advice/other suggestions!
