I plan to hike the Skyline Trail in Jasper this September (around the 15th). What kind of nighttime temperatures should I be prepared for? I will be using a tent. The down bag I have now is good to about 20 deg F.

Thanks
Dave

Some historical temperature info

Hey Dave,

The following link contains historical (1926-1990) maximum and minimum temperatures for the Jasper townsite. Note the elevation is only 1061 meters.

Hey Dave,

Having Done the skyline more than once, I can tell you this
skyline means above tree line for the majority...
which in jasper runs about 1700-m, sooo, it will be very dependant on the weather there at the time, but (very) generally days are warm and nites (close) to below freezing.
I had snow in late july, so you really cant overprepare.
Having said that escape can be pretty easy if yuo must.
If you can handle the time distance, I would recommend adding the maligne pass, route as well and coming out on the parkway, hitching is pretty easy, provided you are carrying a backpack.
have fun
