Timberline Trail/Mt. Hood

Has anyone hiked/backpacked the Timberline Trail in the Mt. Hood Wilderness (Oregon) from Timberline Lodge to the Sandy River in the past couple of weeks? I'm wondering how deep/swift the ZigZag River crossing is. I'm considering taking my 75# golden retriever and wonder if the river would be too deep and swift for her (or for me).
