Planning on hiking the JMT next year. Is a canister stove appropriate? Should I carry white gas stove etc.

Spring, summer and fall I usually use a pepsi can alcohol stove when going alone: boil water cook in a bag and eat. Cannisters are good for two or more, easy simmering, so are most white gas stoves. It depends on the weight you want to carry, features(more maintanance) and the amount of $$. Pepsi can stoves are light and easy to make and cost little, nothing to really break down.I have got all three, but many use the pepsi.JMT is a great hike, have fun.
