Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail - PA

I'm interested in hiking the southern part of the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail in Spring '08. I would like to start at Ohiopyle and probably hike to the Roaring Run Natural Area (30-32 miles)over the course of a 3-4 day weekend.

Has anyone here hiked this portion of the trail? I was going to buy the Sierra Club guide book, but first wanted to see if there were any trail veterans here who would be willing to provide their perspective.
