My wife and I are looking at spending a week at Big Bend Ntl Park (TX) in in mid-November. I'm having a tough time finding helpful information online for those seeking to backpack for a number of days in the park. Any suggestions? Books? Websites? Resources? Thanks

~Matt

Or try typing Big Bend National Park into your browser and go to the National Park Service website, theres one for each national park and monument.

Thanks. I guess the NPS site was down for half the day, so I couldn't scrounge up any info from there.

The www.virtualbigbend.com is a cool site. You can see all of Big Bend in 3D and move the pointer all around up and down and see all the pictures of all over Big Bend. I have not been there myself but after seeing this site I want to go!

I guess I'm still looking for something with some substantial backcountry reviews of extended multi-day hikes. So far nada!!

Well you can also try:
www.ohranger.com/bigbend/welcome-big-bend-natioanl-park
or
the Yahoo group Texasoutback. For the second one just go to yahoo groups and type in Texasoutback.
