Valley of 10000 Smokes

I am beggining the planning of a trip to the valley of 10000 smokes (in Katmai national park) sometime mid-June. I was just wondering if anyone else has been there and if they flew or took a boat, how much the transport costs, etc. I plan to spend 5-6 days there, doing some salmon fishing, hiking the valley, and hopefully getting to Crater Lake. I would appreciate any advice on navigating the river canyons within the valley and if anyone has made the trip to Crater Lake, is there any route up the side of the mountain that isn't snow covered (I'm assuming glaciers wont be a problem).
