Just looking for a bit more insight on this place...any experiences you've had/heard of, or even 4th-hand stories you've heard. Counting on my Norse, Finn, Swede, and Icelandic friends here!

Thank you for the verbal rose pillowthread, glad you liked the link. Just found one other film from a tv-program callen "ut i naturen" (translated to "out into the nature") http://www1.nrk.no/nett-tv/klipp/554648 The program has a few clips of other places regarding a quiz, and it is regretably only in norwegian. But the shots are really fine.

Personally I have access to a lot of Jan Mayen info, as one of my neighbours have had 4 (or maybe 5) stays of half a year at the island. She is working at the met station here in Bodø, and she pops in for a coffe once in a while.
