I was planning a trip up either Granite Mtn. near Snoq pass or Alta Mtn. this weekend. Both are getting dumped on by this late Spring rain/snow at this moment. I am considering flushing the whole idea because the ranger stn advised that the hills are still sliding but they didn't know those mtns specifically. Its deffinately not worth dying over, but if its worth a try I would like to give it a go. Anyone been there in the Spring or in the area this year who can help me size things up? I'd rather not get tangled up in a Spring avalanche but, I have GOT to get into the mtns soon or I might just... well I just REALLY need to get out.

If its not a go, any reccommendations for a nearby alternate?

Now with two climbers missing on Mt. St. Hellens I think that might be a hint to sit this weekend out.

Hope those guys get found safe, and soon.

The ski patrols local to that area's resorts can provide the best info.
