Blue Mountain Lake - ADK - recommendations?

Anyone have any recommendations for Blue Mountain Lake in the ADK?

Particular trails?

Camp spots?

You could also try doing a search on the NY DEC website I find a lot of good info there.

I don't know where you live, if you have a store that sells camping gear etc but they may have these or you could just order the ones you want over the web. EMS has all the maps in one package that is a tad cheaper than buying them individually.

Also Note: the Nation Geographic Trail maps are petty good & accurate for the ADK area im not sure about any of the other areas.

ADK40, I'd love to hear of any good trails/campsites that you find in the area. Please post if you come up with anything noteworthy.

Mike068, I'm in southern PA which by trailspace standards is close to upstate New York, so I find that I head north for almost all of my excursions, the Adirondacks is my favorite area, I look forward to returning to the Whites this winter and recently did a section of the Long Trail (VT) for the first time. I would like to hear of any favorite trails/vistas/etc that you have in the Northeast. I guess I am pretty off topic by now. Oh well.

mike068 - thanks! it's actually good to know that about the national geographic trail maps. i'm going to check out those sites too.

bccroney - i'm the rochester, ny area. i've been told blue mountain lake, durant lake and rackett lake are pretty great areas to check out in the adks.
