Trying to find a good spot to camp for 2-3 days in the Florida Panhandle - Apalachicola National Forest area.
This will be for the Last week of April 2011.
I've never been to Florida before. Any suggestions?

pfemm,
I have never been to the Apalachicola National Forest Area but Florida does have beautiful springs and I know wakula springs is in that area and I have heard that is very nice.
I do not camp much on the west coast but I have camped at Cayo Costa State park which is a good 2 hours south of Appalachicola but worth it if you have the time. It is an island, you take a ferry out and camp right next to the beach. The beach there is all undeveloped and one of the best beaches in the world to find seashells. It is a great spot if you need some beach time but as far as trails there is not much there.
let me know how you like Apalachicola, I am always looking for new places to camp. hope you enjoy your trip!
