Me and two buddies are heading up to Spencefield from Cades Cove this weekend. I'll let you know how it is when I get back.

The snow reports say there is six inches of snow in Cades Cove right now and 28 inches of snow up on Mt. Leconte at 6400 feet. Newfound Gap is at 5,000 feet an the same elevation as Spencefield, but they don't have a report for it.

I'd venture that there is probably about 15 to 20 inches up there. It's supposed to be snowing in the higher elevations tonight and tomorrow night as well.

We are going up using snowshoes. If you don't have snowshoes or cross country skis, you might want to hold back.
